During your Summer Holidays in Malta a must is to go to a village Festa (Feast). The streets are decorated with banners, bunting and statues, the Parish Church is a joy to see in all her finery, thousands of lightbulbs adorn the outside and can be seen for miles around when lit up at night. The local Band play and march through the area, stalls are set up in the streets selling Maltese Nougat, Date Cakes, and novelties for the children. Fireworks and Petards are set off during the week. The highlight is on the Sunday evening when the Statue is carried out of the Church and taken along all the streets of the Parish. The evening is rounded off with even more fireworks.
